Job Description

An Industrial Steel Field Manager oversees on-site structural or miscellaneous steel projects, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective execution from start to finish. They manage field labor, subcontractors, equipment, and material logistics while maintaining strict quality control and compliance with blueprints and safety standards. Key responsibilities include coordinating daily operations, scheduling, and optimizing material usage.
Core Responsibilities Field Operations Management:
Direct all on-site activities for steel erection, fabrication, or installation, ensuring compliance with construction drawings and specifications.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce strict OSHA compliance and company safety policies, including daily inspections of equipment like cranes and forklifts.
Project Scheduling and Coordination:
Develop and execute project timelines, coordinating with subcontractors, logistics teams, and project managers to meet deadlines.
Resource and Material Management:
Oversee material inventory, including proper storage, handling, and tracking of steel plates and structural components to minimize waste.
Quality Control:
Ensure that all welding, fabrication, and installation meet engineering requirements and structural specifications.
Labor Management:
Supervise field crews, scheduling work, and ensuring high productivity levels.
Required Skills and Qualifications Experience:
4-6 years of experience in structural steel fabrication, erection, or industrial construction.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of welding, piping, and reading blue prints/technical drawings.
Software Proficiency:
Familiarity with ProCore FabSuite, Fabtrol, Strumis, or BlueBeam is common.
Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
