  • The Production Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations in a value-add manufacturing area, leading a team of 10-15 production associates.
This role ensures production targets, quality standards, and key performance indicators are met while maintaining clear communication across shifts. The Production Supervisor is responsible for production scheduling, daily action planning based on demand, labor, and materials, and driving continuous improvement using lean manufacturing principles.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Lead, coach, and supervise a team of 10-15 production associates in a value-add manufacturing environment.
+ Ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. + Track daily production output and key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide accurate reports. + Communicate production, quality, and breakdown information clearly to the next shift supervisor and team leaders to ensure smooth handoffs. + Plan and schedule production activities based on demand, available labor, and material availability. + Develop and execute daily action plans to optimize production efficiency and resource utilization. + Monitor and maintain quality control and quality assurance processes throughout the production line. + Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement continuous improvement initiatives. + Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve flow, and enhance overall productivity. + Support and participate in cost savings analysis and initiatives to improve operational efficiency. + Manage and oversee the performance and workflow of the production line in an automotive environment. + Work effectively within a union environment, maintaining positive working relationships with all associates. + Model servant leadership by supporting team members, removing obstacles, and fostering a collaborative culture. + Ensure compliance with all plant policies, procedures, and safety standards. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and maintain smooth operations.
  • Essential Skills
  • + Proven experience supervising production associates in a manufacturing environment.
+ Hands-on experience managing a production line, preferably in an automotive OEM or supplier setting. + Strong continuous improvement and process improvement methodologies. + Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools. + Experience with quality control and quality assurance in a production environment. + Ability to track, interpret, and report production metrics and KPIs accurately. + Experience working in a union environment and ability to operate comfortably within union guidelines. + Demonstrated servant leadership approach, focusing on supporting and developing team members. + Solid production planning and scheduling skills based on demand, labor, and material availability. + Strong communication skills for clear shift-to-shift handoffs and coordination with team leaders. + Ability to conduct and support cost savings analysis related to production and process improvements.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Bachelor's degree is preferred.
+ Experience in an automotive OEM or supplier environment. + Union experience and familiarity with unionized work settings. + Experience in production supervision within the automotive industry. + Knowledge of continuous process improvement methodologies. + Understanding of quality control and quality assurance practices. + Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. + Ability to analyze production data and support cost savings initiatives. + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in production planning. + Comfort working on a smaller team and in a slower-paced environment.

  • Work Environment
  • This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility that has operated for many years and features updated equipment.
The team is relatively small, contributing to a more close-knit and somewhat slower-paced environment. The workplace operates within a union setting, so the Production Supervisor should be comfortable working in and respecting union processes. The position follows a night shift schedule from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with minimal overtime expected.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $28.
84 - $33.65/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
