Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Production Group Leader (a supervisor role) at Shiroki North America is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations and driving team performance to meet production goals. This role manages and develops Team Leaders, organizes and directs subordinate groups, and ensures all production KPIs are consistently achieved. The Group Leader fosters a culture of employee engagement through coaching, development, and motivational programs, while promoting safety, quality, and efficiency across the production area. In addition, the position plays a key role in continuous improvement by directing and supporting Kaizen initiatives and 3 Pillar projects, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with organizational objectives.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / DUTIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Supervise daily operations to ensure full compliance with production schedules and organizational requirements.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members to consistently meet performance, safety, and quality expectations.
- Analyze product rejections and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and guide improvement teams using the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) methodology.
- Ensure production schedules are completed on time and aligned with customer and operational demands.
- Provide ongoing training and support to employees to enhance skills, performance, and engagement.
- Lead structured problem‑solving discussions and drive Kaizen and KPI‑focused continuous improvement initiatives, including small‑scale production‑area improvements that support efficiency tracking, ERP (CMS) accuracy, and alignment with the Master Schedule and present to Executive Leadership.
- Monitor product quality on the production line and ensure all outputs meet established requirements and specifications.
- Develop and oversee adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and area‑specific guidelines.
- Monitor process reliability and implement corrective measures to maintain consistent production flow.
- Maintain accurate scrap and finished goods inventory within the company's systems.
- Implement projects focused on reducing inventory waste, scrap, and non‑value‑added activities.
- Ensure compliance with all quality, safety, and environmental policies and regulatory standards.
- Manage 3 Pillar program standards within assigned production areas to support operational excellence.
- Facilitate and provide training on Emergency Response procedures to ensure team readiness.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles and tools to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
- Utilize structured problem‑solving techniques to address and resolve production challenges.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills in daily interactions with team members and cross‑functional partners.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Progression Path with Post-Secondary Education o BA or BS degree in supply chain or manufacturing-related field (preferred, not required). o 3+ years of progressive experience in production or manufacturing within a leadership role.
- Progression Path without Post-Secondary Education o 5+ years of progressive experience in production or manufacturing.
- Experience working with integrated computer programs and applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Ability to work safely in environments with moving mechanical parts, vibration, and hazardous materials.
