Job Description

The metal install foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing a crew that installs fabricated product on-site. Product ranges from stairs, rails, canopies, glass rails, and other custom fabricated metal.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Reads blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Perform layout for items on-site. Identifies all tools and equipment required for tasks. Identifies safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks. Manages a crew of installers with regards to scheduling, processes and sequences, time, and cost. Illustrates in-depth knowledge of metal work. Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of structural-steel members, using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, and/or levels from designated benchmarks. Work alongside crew throughout project to ensure that material is installed correctly and with high quality. Complete daily reports, work tickets, and other paperwork required. Other project related tasks, as assigned by the Metal Installation Manager.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to manage multiple crews (4 or greater) or multiple projects. In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines. Welding certifications or general knowledge of welding. Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints. Ability to layout complicated work. Ability to communicate and report effectively. Must be willing to travel. Ability to assess and adapt to problems quickly.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma, required. 3+ years of experience as metal related foreman. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times. Must be able to work 40-50 hours per week depending on project requirements.
Pay:
$32.00 - $35.00 per hour
