Position Overview GBR is seeking an experienced Roofing & Waterproofing Superintendent to serve as the Company's senior on-site authority. The Superintendent is responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, safety, quality, and successful completion of assigned projects. This position requires a decisive field leader who can manage crews, maintain production schedules, enforce safety and quality standards, protect company resources, and represent GBR professionally with clients and project stakeholders. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership and Execution Maintain operational control of assigned projects from pre-planning through completion and closeout. Direct daily field operations to meet project scope, schedule, quality, safety, and cost objectives. Anticipate and resolve issues affecting productivity, sequencing, manpower, or performance. Serve as the primary field decision-maker and promptly escalate critical risks or project concerns. Provide accurate and timely reports regarding progress, delays, corrective actions, and site conditions. Quality Assurance Enforce manufacturer specifications for substrate preparation, priming, membrane application, curing, detailing, and final inspection. Verify coating thickness, adhesion, uniformity, and overall system integrity. Conduct continuous quality inspections and implement corrective action when standards are not met. Prevent unnecessary rework, system failures, and warranty exposure through proactive field oversight. Ensure completed work consistently meets GBR, client, and manufacturer standards. Crew Leadership and Development Lead, supervise, and mentor Team Leads and field personnel. Establish and enforce expectations for safety, workmanship, productivity, attendance, and professionalism. Coach employees on application techniques, equipment operation, and quality requirements. Address performance or conduct concerns promptly and consistently. Promote accountability, teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement across field operations. Scheduling and Production Control Develop and maintain accurate, realistic, and executable project schedules. Coordinate daily activities with crews, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, clients, and other trades. Adjust manpower and work sequencing based on weather, site conditions, production needs, and operational changes. Track daily production rates, labor utilization, project milestones, and schedule performance. Communicate delays, material needs, and staffing concerns before they affect project completion. Materials, Equipment, and Logistics Plan and coordinate the procurement, delivery, staging, and inventory of project materials and equipment. Ensure materials are stored, handled, applied, and disposed of properly. Monitor material usage and minimize unnecessary waste. Protect company tools, vehicles, equipment, and other assets through proper use and oversight. Coordinate with logistics and operations personnel to maintain uninterrupted project production. Safety and Regulatory Compliance Enforce all OSHA, environmental, client, and GBR safety requirements without exception. Lead job hazard analyses, pre-task planning, daily safety briefings, and site inspections. Ensure proper PPE usage and the safe handling, storage, application, and disposal of roofing and liquid membrane materials. Immediately stop and correct unsafe work conditions or behaviors. Accurately document incidents, safety violations, corrective actions, and required follow-up. Maintain a work environment in which safety concerns are addressed promptly and professionally. Cost Control and Budget Awareness Monitor labor efficiency, material usage, equipment costs, and field performance against project estimates. Identify potential cost overruns or inefficiencies early and implement corrective measures. Provide accurate field information to support estimating, forecasting, billing, and project performance reviews. Support company profitability without compromising safety, quality, or contractual requirements. Client and Stakeholder Relations Serve as GBR's primary on-site representative with clients, inspectors, vendors, and other project stakeholders. Communicate project progress, scheduling updates, technical considerations, and challenges clearly and professionally. Address client concerns promptly and coordinate appropriate resolutions. Protect GBR's professional reputation and maintain productive client relationships throughout the project. Required Qualifications Previous experience supervising commercial or industrial roofing, waterproofing, construction, or a closely related trade. Demonstrated experience leading field crews and coordinating multiple project activities. Strong working knowledge of jobsite safety requirements and OSHA standards. Ability to read and interpret project specifications, scopes of work, manufacturer requirements, and construction documents. Experience with project scheduling, production tracking, quality inspections, manpower planning, and material coordination. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to document project conditions and prepare accurate field reports. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability and willingness to travel or accept extended project assignments as required. Ability to pass all company and client-required background checks and drug screenings. Preferred Qualifications Experience with liquid-applied roofing or waterproofing membrane systems. Experience working in industrial, petrochemical, manufacturing, or other highly regulated environments. Familiarity with coating thickness requirements, adhesion testing, substrate preparation, and manufacturer warranty standards. OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training. Experience coordinating subcontractors, client representatives, inspectors, and other trades. Physical and Work Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions. Ability to access rooftops, ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work areas. Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical jobsite inspections for extended periods. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment. Ability to work the hours necessary to support project schedules, including early mornings, extended shifts, or weekends when required. Ability to travel to project locations and remain on extended assignments when necessary.
