Job Description

SUMMARY A
Food Manufacturing Production Supervisor oversees the daily operations of a production line or facility. They are responsible for driving shift efficiency, managing floor staff, and ensuring strict compliance with food safety regulations (such as GMP and HACCP) while meeting budgetary goals. The Plant Supervisor will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize production processes. Responsibilities and Duties ×
Production & Efficiency :
Direct daily operations on the manufacturing floor to meet production schedules and maximize output. Monitor line efficiency, track yields, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to minimize waste and downtime. ×
Quality Control & Compliance :
Ensure all products meet company and regulatory standards. Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP). Oversee quality checks, including temperature control, packaging integrity, and hygiene protocols. ×
Team Leadership & Training:
Manage, train, and mentor floor staff, leads, and operators. Handle shift scheduling, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions in collaboration with HR. ×
Safety & Sanitation:
Enforce OSHA regulations and facility safety rules. Conduct regular safety and sanitation audits, lead safety meetings, and investigate any accidents or safety deviations. ×
Reporting & Administration:
Maintain accurate production records, inventory counts, and shift logs. Compile performance reports for plant management and explain variances in cost or production goals × Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
Typically 2 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a food, beverage, or consumer goods manufacturing environment. ×
Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with manufacturing equipment (e.g., fillers, wrappers, packaging machinery) and food processing software. ×
Certifications:
Certifications in HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), BRCGS, or GMP are highly preferred. ×
Skills:
Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building abilities. Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

EXPERIENCE
× 2-5+ years of progressive leadership experience in the food, beverage, or agricultural processing industry. × Experience with processed meat production and smokehouses is beneficial to this role.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is inside a central heated and air-conditioned office building. There may be a need to enter and walk through a manufacturing setting and wear appropriate PPE. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
Pay:
$57,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
