Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Welder/Fitter Supervisor to lead our fabrication and welding operations on construction sites. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a team of skilled welders and fitters, ensuring that all metal fabrication and assembly tasks meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Your expertise in welding techniques, blueprint interpretation, and mechanical fabrication will drive project success from start to finish. Duties Supervise and coordinate welding and fitting activities on construction sites, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety standards Lead a team of welders and fitters, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to optimize productivity and quality Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately plan work sequences Oversee the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to ensure precise fabrication and assembly Manage the operation of various welding techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding to meet project requirements Ensure all welding activities comply with American Welding Society (AWS) standards and safety protocols Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to facilitate smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections conducted, and safety compliance for accountability and quality assurance Skills Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of site safety procedures Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints for fabrication projects Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools Expertise in welding techniques including

FCAW, MIG

welding, TIG welding, SMAW (stick welding), and gas metal arc welding in accordance with AWS standards Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for sheet metal fabrication and mechanical assembly Strong mechanical knowledge related to metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, structural assembly, and mechanical fabrication processes Competence in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math skills for precise measurements Familiarity with construction equipment like cranes for lifting heavy materials safely during fabrication or installation Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations, working at heights with cranes or scaffolding, and handling power tools safely Experience in fabrication shop environments with a focus on quality control and efficient workflow management Join us as a Welder/Fitter Supervisor where your leadership will shape high-quality construction projects.
