Job Summary:
The Assistant Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of the grain shuttle unloading and commodity handling facility by ensuring grain and feed movement and quality standards while meeting company goals and objectives. Provide day to day leadership support to the location, including all operations, safety, customer service, maintenance, cleanliness, and quality assurance within the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assistant Manager responsibilities involve supervision, reporting, grain and commodity handling and management, safety, and maintenance. Assure proper commodity storage and condition, blend grain for proper storage and distribution to customers, and practice good housekeeping principles. Oversee and manage the maintenance of all commodity handling equipment. Interview, hire, and train employees. Manage employees to be effective on the job and to grow professionally. Track employee accountability. Lead the entire team and support their growth and development. Drive a culture of safety, accountability, opportunistic curiosity and contributes to creating an environment where people want to work. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
College degree in Agribusiness or related field is preferred but not required. 1 year grain facility supervisory experience preferred. High level of detail, multi-tasking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with intuition to create solutions. Positive, self-motivated individual with organization, communication, and negotiation skills. Communication skills - listen, provide feedback both verbally and in writing. Teamwork skills - build a positive, safe work environment with the goal of low turn-over. Leadership skills - demonstrate passion for the job and build the vision for the future. Strong customer service commitment.
Physical Demands:
Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, climb 75 feet of ladder, and be able to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, dust) Must be able to function in a loud, industrial setting with background machinery noise Ability to navigate an office environment. Regular and predictable attendance in office or site location. Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
