Welding & Fabrication | Machine Shop Company Overview We are a growing precision machine shop looking for a skilled Welding Foreman to lead our welding and fabrication team. This is a working foreman position — you will be hands-on welding and fabricating alongside your team every day while providing leadership and direction. Position Summary We need a strong leader who is also an excellent welder. You will oversee daily welding operations, ensure top-quality fabrication, and work closely with our machine shop team on projects that require both welding and precision machining. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of welders and fabricators while actively welding alongside them Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings Oversee fabrication projects from start to finish, including layout, fixturing, welding, and final inspection Collaborate daily with machinists on complex jobs requiring both fabrication and machining Maintain high quality standards and meet customer specifications and tolerances Enforce safety policies and maintain a clean, organized shop environment Train, mentor, and develop welding team members Assist with quoting, job planning, scheduling, material ordering, and troubleshooting Perform quality checks and documentation Qualifications Minimum 7+ years of professional welding and fabrication experience 3+ years of supervisory or lead experience preferred Strong skills in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding AWS welding certification or equivalent is a plus Experience working in a machine shop environment strongly preferred Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols Knowledge of metal properties, distortion control, and proper fixturing Reliable transportation and valid driver's license Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods High school diploma or GED required What We Offer Health, dental, vision and supplemental insurances Paid time off and holidays 401(k) with company match Overtime opportunities Modern equipment and tools Stable, long-term opportunity with room for growth How to Apply If you are a hands-on welder who enjoys leading a team and working in a machine shop environment, we want to hear from you!
