Zero incidents. High first-time pass rate. Modules out the door complete. Position Overview Tarpon Specialty Services is hiring a Module Hydrotesting Superintendent to own all hydrotesting execution across large modular projects supporting LNG, offshore, and industrial clients at our Ingleside, TX fabrication yard near Corpus Christi. This is a critical path role. You are responsible for delivering leak-free, fully tested, and mechanically complete modules prior to loadout. That means leading test crews through high-pressure hydrotesting, system cleaning, borescope inspections, drying, preservation, and full reinstatement — all executed safely, on schedule, and to spec. You will supervise Foremen and craft personnel across multiple modules simultaneously and coordinate closely with piping, QC, and turnover teams to drive mechanical completion. Key Responsibilities Hydrotesting Execution Lead hydrotesting execution across multiple modules and systems simultaneously Define test boundaries and ensure complete, accurate test packages for every system Plan and execute high-pressure hydrotests, hydro plug installation and removal, hydro lancing and system flushing, borescope and internal inspections, system drying and preservation, and full restoration and reinstatement post-test Sequence testing to align with module completion milestones and loadout schedule Drive first-time pass success on all pressure tests Crew Leadership & Coordination Supervise Foremen, test crews, and craft personnel across active test scopes Coordinate with piping, QC, and turnover teams for system readiness and completion Support mechanical completion activities and client system turnover Drive punch list closure and ensure test documentation is complete and accurate Safety Leadership Enforce strict hydrotest safety controls — barricading, exclusion zones, line-of-fire management, and pressure monitoring and communication protocols Ensure proper installation and independent verification of all hydro plugs prior to pressurization Lead pre-test safety meetings and verify full system readiness before every test Immediately address any unsafe conditions, anomalies, or test failures Quality Ensure all testing meets project specifications, client standards, and applicable codes and procedures Verify no leaks or pressure loss on every system tested Confirm clean, debris-free systems following lancing and flushing operations Ensure proper reinstatement of all components to design condition post-test Qualifications 10+ years of experience in piping, hydrotesting, and/or mechanical completion 5+ years in a supervisory role — Foreman, General Foreman, or Superintendent level Proven hands-on experience with high-pressure hydrotesting operations Direct experience with hydro plug systems — installation, inspection, and failure prevention Experience with hydro lancing and flushing operations Experience performing and overseeing borescope inspections Solid understanding of system restoration, reinstatement, and preservation requirements Strong command of piping systems, test procedures, and the safety risks of pressurized stored energy Experience in LNG, offshore, or modular construction environments preferred What Sets You Apart You understand the risk profile of stored energy systems and run tight, controlled test operations You know how to get systems clean, tested, and turned over fast without cutting corners You take personal ownership of test integrity and the safety of every person in the exclusion zone No surprises on your watch — you plan the work, verify readiness, and execute with discipline Why Tarpon Specialty Services Gulf Coast fabrication yard with direct barge loadout capability Large, complex modular projects — LNG, offshore, and industrial High-performance environment where execution and safety are equally valued Work alongside experienced piping, QC, and module assembly teams on major programs Success Looks Like Zero hydrotest-related safety incidents High first-time pass rate on all pressure tests Clean, debris-free systems with no contamination issues Minimal rework and reinstatement issues post-test Modules delivered fully tested, complete, and ready for loadout on schedule Tarpon Specialty Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
