Built on a legacy of quality and innovation, we are seeking a Supervisor - Technical Production to join our team and support our continued growth. This role will be involved in supervising and coordinating the technical production teams and safety initiatives in a continuous fast paced, quality conscious, high-speed manufacturing operation; performing as a key member of a management team committed to World-Class Performance and department goals.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure all employees, both new and current, feel welcomed and are treated with respect as well as providing them with clear instructions/training along with the correct tools and PPE required. Ensure safe working practices are followed and all accidents, hazards, near misses, and property damage are reported in the required time. Ensure that Safety and Quality requirements are in compliance. Supervisor is responsible of auditing at the beginning of the shift as well as at least 3 times during the day the following: Lock Out/ Tag Out Change Over Log Sheets Material Usage Forms Supervisor is responsible to manage the scheduling for change overs in the molding departments. Supervisor is responsible to manage material usages in the molding departments. Conduct the Safety Monthly training to all direct reports Develop and execute a Cross-Training Program for a positions rotation plan. The Supervisor is responsible to keep payroll system updated at all times and timecards must be approved by the end of the last day of their shift. The Supervisor is required to navigate in both Oracle and OBIEE systems, to verify inventories and/or scheduling requirements. Perform duties to support the Manager as needed. Utilize properly the assigned manpower, material, equipment and space to perform in a profitable and efficient manner by coordinating all activities within the scope of approved procedures and sets priorities necessary to accomplish pre-determined goals. Identifies and resolves manufacturing problems in order to deliver production efficiency, attainment and scrap control results. Monitors equipment, methods of operation and coordinates equipment repairs in order to reduce spoilage (scrap) and ensure established quantity and quality of output is met. Help implement and maintain 5S practices in all areas of the plant. Ensure safe working practices are followed and all accidents, hazards, near misses and property damage are reported in the required time. Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety and hygiene standards. Promote Safety, Quality, and Environmental Awareness by following the requirements in the area of responsibility. Ensure production activities are carried out within budgeted labor hours. Ensure all labor and machine timesheets are completed and submitted accurately as required. Also, must maintain accurate personnel data: attendance, counseling, performance and other, to provide accurate payroll data to proper personnel. The Supervisor will ensure the transfer of knowledge and/or issues between shifts, to the relieving Supervisor. All Igloo policies and procedures are enforced fairly and equally. Technical Supervisor must be willing to be cross trained to fill in for Molding Supervisor position as needed. Other duties as assigned What do we offer? High school diploma or equivalency. Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of Production experience in assembly repetitive manufacturing and supervision of technical employees. Supervisory Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience over technical employees. Strong technical skills in relation to molding, mold change, and material blending systems. Ability to lead others including people from diverse backgrounds. English language skills:
Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English. Math skills:
Strong ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Physical Demands:
Able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. multiple times a day during a 12 hr. shift; Bend and stand in difficult positions up to 12 hours; Able to manipulate tools with both hands and stand for long hours; Able to walk quickly and climb stairs; Walk approximate distance between 3-4 miles per day. Work environment:
Warehouse environment hot and humid in summer months, cold in winter months. High noise requiring use of hearing protection. Proficient in MS Office suite. To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics: Injection Mold, Vacuum Form or Blow Mold Process, mold change, and material setup experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish). College degree preferred. Experience and familiarity SMED, Process Lockdown Sheets, and Material Blending Ratios. Experience in Lean Manufacturing. Standing & Walking Roles may involve extended periods (up to 12 hours) of standing and walking, including moving at a brisk pace and occasional stair climbing. Postural Requirements Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in low or awkward positions during production or maintenance tasks. Lifting & Material Handling Operator-level roles may involve lifting up to 25 lb repeatedly throughout the shift. Technician-level roles may involve lifting up to 50 lb multiple times per day, including overhead lifts. Where possible, mechanical aids (e.g., hoists, forklifts) are used. Fine Motor Skills & Tool Use Use of both hands is required to operate tools, perform adjustments, and handle assembly materials with precision. Visual Requirements Sufficient visual acuity (e.g., 20/40 with or without correction) is necessary for tasks involving inspection and safe equipment operation. Environmental Conditions Work is performed in a production setting where seasonal temperatures may range from 100-120°F (with humidity) in summer to cooler conditions in winter. High noise levels are common; hearing protection is provided and required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and protective clothing may be required depending on the task. Additional Job Considerations These roles can be physically demanding, involving repetitive motions and long hours. Technicians may be required to handle heavy molds and materials; use of material handling equipment is provided and encouraged.
