Job Description

Our client, the steel manufacturing industry, is seeking a Rolling Mill Shift Supervisor to join their team. As a Rolling Mill Shift Supervisor, you will be part of the manufacturing operations supporting the steel production process. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, technical expertise, and adaptability, which will align successfully in the organization.

  • $110,000 What's the Job?
Supervise and coordinate shift workforces engaged in steel mill rolling operations, including warehousing, reheating, and reducing steel billets. Ensure maximum production efficiency at the lowest cost, adhering to established schedules and quality standards. Communicate with previous and succeeding shifts regarding operational status, maintenance needs, and quality control issues. Manage resources such as personnel, materials, supplies, tools, and equipment to support shift activities. Collaborate with maintenance and production control teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational problems promptly. What's Needed? A 4-year degree is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Working knowledge of manufacturing methods involving heavy mill machinery and related equipment. Familiarity with properties of metals and ASTM specifications for bar mill products. Previous experience in steel mill rolling and finishing operations, including supervisory roles, is highly desirable. Union experience, particularly with the United Steel Workers, is a significant plus. What's in it for me? Competitive salary aligned with industry standards.
