Supervise 80-90 hourly slaughter employees including 4 production leads with responsibility for all training, staffing, policy and rule enforcement, and scheduling. Responsible for successful achievement of all slaughter targets within a framework of safety conscious culture and excellence in regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Ensures a safe environment, regulatory compliance, animal welfare, maintenance and protection of company assets, and attainment of production targets. 2. Oversee all scheduling, training, and employee performance to ensure all birds are processed safely, in compliance with regulations and customer expectations, and in a cost-effective manner. 3. Foster strong working relationships with peers, subordinates, superiors, and regulatory personnel leading to successful operations. 4. Plan, strategize, and adapt continuously to ensure long-term departmental success. 5. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1. Ability to nurture a strong safety culture. 2. Self-motivated; ability to strategically operate department with little supervision. 3. Ability to lift and properly move at least 50 lbs multiple times in a shift. 4. Ability to stand on hard surface for long periods of time, to bend, stoop, climb, in hot, cold and wet conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Significant supervisory experience in a food manufacturing setting. 2. Continuously striving to improve and learn. 3. Poultry supervisory experience preferred. 4. BS in Poultry/Food Science is preferred. 5. Bilingual in English and Spanish is helpful.
