Job Description

Summary:
This position plans, organizes, coordinates, and monitors the performance, safety, training, and work activities of plant operators. Also ensures plant equipment and process control conform to established production quality, quantity, and safety parameters. Assignments are primarily routine in nature and carried out in accordance with general work instructions, practices, procedures, and precedents. This employee is one of 4 reporting to the Superintendent of Operations. The ideal candidate will be safety minded, dependable, and motivated and have experience operating an Articulated Haul Truck such as JD460, VolvoA45G, Cat 745, or Komatsu HM400. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: (Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.) Provides orientation for all new, or transferred employees to ensure their understanding of working expectations and safety standards and procedures. Structures a learning environment conducive to the attainment of required operator skills. Determines and /or monitors the subsequent training needs of subordinates to provide skill improvements which align with present and future business requirements. Coordinates identified training needs with the plant manager. Plans, organizes, coordinates and monitors operator's activities to ensure: Optimal safety of plant personnel is attained. Production schedules and quality standards are achieved. Operating costs are contained thought efficient use of personnel, machinery, materials and operating procedure Questions, concerns and requests are addressed in a timely manner. Performance standards are met. Routinely inspects plant/ponds equipment for operational integrity. Initiates work, or work orders, required to retain equipment in proper operating condition. Completes all required documents including, but not limited to, production reports, time cards, performance documentation and safety reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Conducts meaningful performance reviews with subordinates. Ensures operators meet established safety/performance standards. Performs other assignments as directed by the Area Supervisor not otherwise depicted in this general description. Qualifications•
External Qualifications:

Education and Experience :
Must have experience in all areas of the production facility and/or an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering. Must have verifiable experience demonstrative of effective team building and leadership abilities.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be PC proficient and possess the ability to quickly master skills required to function with expertise in mainframe functions. Must be proficient in Windows XP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E, Kronos, and Outlook.

This position is responsible for the quality and quantity of in-process and finished goods.
Language Skills:

Is expected to possess the interpersonal and communications skills required to promote effectively, training and team interaction with management, direct reports, and contract personnel. Mathematical and Reasoning Ability and Skills:
Frequently responds to changing conditions influencing processing plant chemistries. Must interpret and resolve such conditions in a timely and accurate manner . Ability to collect and accurately assemble data in a logical manner.
