Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Crew Foreman to support daily production operations within our steel fabrication shop. This role is responsible for leading and coordinating a crew of welders, fitters, fabricators, machine operators, material handlers, and shop helpers to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. The Crew Foreman serves as a key point of support on the shop floor, helping translate production priorities into daily execution while maintaining quality, workflow, and safety standards. The ideal candidate has experience in structural or miscellaneous steel fabrication, understands shop drawings and production flow, and is comfortable leading by example in a fast-paced shop environment. Duties Lead and coordinate daily shop production activities for assigned crew members. Organize workflow based on production schedules and shop priorities. Ensure team members understand fabrication drawings, measurements, and work requirements. Support welders, fitters, fabricators, machine operators, material handlers, and helpers throughout production processes. Monitor work quality, accuracy, and adherence to safety procedures. Identify and communicate production delays, missing materials, equipment needs, or workflow issues to management. Train, guide, and support less experienced shop employees. Assist hands-on with fabrication and production tasks as needed to meet deadlines. Promote a safe, clean, and productive work environment. Help maintain accountability, organization, and efficiency within the crew. Qualifications Experience in structural steel, miscellaneous steel, welding, fitting, or metal fabrication shop environments required. Previous experience as a crew lead, lead fitter, lead fabricator, or foreman preferred. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, fabrication drawings, cut sheets, and measurements. Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes including fitting, welding, layout, drilling, grinding, assembly, and material handling. Ability to inspect fabricated steel components for proper fit, weld quality, and accuracy. Comfortable leading a team while remaining hands-on in the shop environment. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced production setting with changing priorities. Safety-focused, dependable, and team-oriented. Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
Pay:
$26.00 - $30.00 per hour
