Job description: Flexaseal Engineered Seals and Systems, LLC, is a worldwide systems and mechanical seal manufacturer with facilities in Vermont, New York, Washington, Louisiana, Texas and Brazil. After 40 years, Flexaseal is continuing to grow with sales agents and distributors servicing over 50 countries. We are seeking a full-time Lapping Supervisor to join our team! The Lapping Supervisor is responsible for the tactical oversight of lapping, insertion, finishing, and pressure testing operations within the Lapping Department. In addition to performing all responsibilities of a Lapping Technician, the Lapping Supervisor provides leadership to department personnel, establishes and communicates priorities with the team, ensures product quality requirements are being met, coordinates with adjacent teams in manufacturing, and ensures all safety policies are being followed. The Lapping Supervisor focuses on departmental execution and continuous improvement. The individual works closely with the Lapping Manager to assess department performance, identify capacity constraints and technical risks, and implement improvements to address these findings. Required:

Provide direct supervision and daily direction to personnel within the Lapping Department. Work with the Lapping Manager to establish daily production priorities and allocate labor resources to support manufacturing objectives. Lead shift changeover exercises to improve continuity and communication between shift teams. Monitor workflow and department capacity to ensure on-time completion of manufacturing orders across all shifts. Conduct employee training, coaching, and provide input to the Lapping Manager on annual reviews and performance discussions. Support employee development and skill advancement within the department. Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to company standards Serve as the primary point of contact in the room and coordinate work activities with Engineering, Planning, Quality, Welding, Machining, Assembly, and Operations teams. Maintain operating knowledge of all functions in the department and serve as a technical resource for lapping operations by providing guidance to Lapping Technicians and cross-functional teams. Train and mentor technicians on lapping techniques, inspection methods, troubleshooting, and best practices. High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience in a precision machining, grinding, lapping, or related manufacturing environment. Two years in supervisory or leadership position preferred. Experience in coordinating production schedule execution and prioritization. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.

Pay:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
