Job Description
Swing Position Available - 2pm - 10:30pm
POSITION SUMMARY
The Process Operator position is responsible for directing coffee roasting and packaging volumes through the manufacturing process in the Renton, WA manufacturing facility. Key elements of this position include proper routing of coffee, ensuring predetermined quality and safety standards are met, strategic thinking and ability to work in a fast paced environment, continual improvement of workflow processes and effective communication with all plant staff.KEY DUTIES
Use the daily schedule as a tool to prioritize and route manufacturing orders through the roasting, grinding, packaging system to ensure all equipment is running. Communicate independently and effectively with Maintenance, Operators, Roasters and Quality personnel to understand all conditions affecting current production. Provide clear written and spoken direction to special handling of manufacturing orders. Responsible for all rolling hopper placement and accuracy of accompanying job details. Use computer to route jobs through the system. Operation of high capacity commercial grinders. Managing the flavoring process for shift. Proper management of documents and the ability to follow written instructions. Physically move product using forklift or other designated equipment. Perform tasks associated with ensuring quality of product. Lead or assist in shift kick off meeting as needed and designated by Manager. Create and foster a positive, cooperative work environment. Support safety in kick-off meetings, attending safety meetings and being a safety advocate. Identify and report any safety issues immediately. Provide coaching and mentoring to enhance individual and team performance. Ensure all sanitation standards are being satisfied, and paperwork is up to date. Escalate machine operation issues as needed to Maintenance and Production Manager. Perform audits and/or verification activities as requested by managers.POSITION SKILL/COMPETENCY
Attention to detail and communication skills. Ability to operate strategically, make informed and well thought decisions. Ability to work quickly and safely. The ability to meet deadlines. Able to improve work processes/procedures with suggestions and new ideas. Lift a minimum of 25 lbs. on a regular basis. Work in an environment where temperatures may vary.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent. Supervisory experience of three or more people. Previous experience working with manufacturing based technology, processes and principles required.REPORTING TO THIS POSITION ARE
