Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated CNC Machine Shop Supervisor to lead daily machine shop operations and support a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for supervising CNC machining personnel, equipment, workflow, and production activities to ensure parts are manufactured safely, accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with engineering drawings, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards. The CNC Machine Shop Supervisor works closely with production, quality, engineering, and project management teams to ensure work is completed on schedule while maintaining the highest levels of quality and performance. Key Responsibilities

▪ Supervise, train, mentor, assign, and support CNC machinists and machine shop personnel to ensure production priorities, quality expectations, estimated labor needs, and schedule requirements are met.

▪ Review product drawings, work instructions, traveler requirements, and job priorities to plan and estimate machining work while allocating labor, machines, tools, and materials appropriately.

▪ Verify equipment, tooling, fixtures, programs, and materials used are appropriate for the required work.

▪ Oversee setup, operation, troubleshooting, and optimization of CNC machining processes to promote safe, efficient, and repeatable production.

▪ Ensure in-process and final product quality checks are completed as necessary to verify compliance with applicable requirements.

▪ Ensure measuring and test equipment (M&TE) is properly calibrated prior to use and that employees use inspection equipment correctly.

▪ Maintain adequate supplies of tooling, cutting tools, fixtures, consumables, and shop equipment needed to support production.

▪ Monitor work status against production schedules and keep the Director of Operations informed of issues that could impact the company's ability to meet customer requirements.

▪ Provide strong day-to-day leadership in planning, estimating, assigning, and mentoring employees to ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with production goals.

▪ Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and promote proper housekeeping throughout the machine shop. Minimum Qualifications Education/ Training

▪ Complete company orientation and required safety, quality, and supervisory training.

▪ High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training, apprenticeship, or coursework in machining, manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Skills

▪ Advanced ability to read and interpret product drawings, tolerances, specifications, work instructions, and inspection requirements.

▪ Strong CNC machining knowledge, including setup, tooling, feeds and speeds, fixturing, and troubleshooting.

▪ Strong ability to lead, train, mentor, coach, and communicate effectively with machine shop personnel and management.

▪ Ability to plan and estimate work, prioritize employee assignments, monitor schedules, solve production issues, and support continuous improvement.

▪ Working knowledge of quality systems, inspection methods, calibrated measuring equipment, and shop safety practices.

▪ Knowledge of CAD systems, including the ability to spin, view, and interpret CAD models to support machining setup, inspection, troubleshooting, and production planning. Experience

▪ 5 or more years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

▪ 2 or more years of experience leading, mentoring, training, planning, estimating, or supervising machinists or production personnel preferred.

▪ Experience with CNC mills and/or lathes, machine setup, tooling selection, and inspection of machined parts required.

▪ Experience identifying and specifying essential machines and equipment needed to support future shop growth, including coordinating and handling the installation of new machines and related equipment. Due to ITAR requirements, applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents, or otherwise authorized to access USML technical data. Physical Requirements This position requires regular standing, handling tools, reaching, and lifting. Must be able to regularly lift up to 10 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Work Environment Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, occasional fumes or airborne particles, and loud noise levels. Safety equipment is provided.

$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
