Job Description

PrideStaff is seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe Machinist and Department Lead to join a premier, 60-year industry leader in aerospace and defense manufacturing. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on multi-axis machining with direct team leadership, playing a critical role in fulfilling long-term contracts and driving department growth.
The Role Setup & Machining:
Set up and run 2-axis and complex multi-axis CNC Lathes with sub-spindle capabilities to produce high-quality aerospace components.
Team Leadership:
Oversee a dedicated production team of 1-3 employees spanning two shifts. Manage the daily production schedule, approve timecards, and ensure labor tickets are accurately submitted.
Quality & Process Control:
Perform meticulous in-process inspections using precision measuring tools, monitor the department for efficiency, and proactively suggest process improvements.
Tooling & Programming:
Organize proper fixturing and tooling for incoming work orders, perform basic MasterCAM lathe programming, and keep set-up sheets up to date.
Cross-Functional Communication:
Act as the central hub for the Lathe department, maintaining excellent communication with programming, tooling, scheduling, and the General Manager.
What You Bring Experience:
5+ years of hands-on CNC Lathe machining experience combined with a minimum of 3 years in a Machine Shop Lead or supervisory role.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency with precision measuring tools, multi-axis lathe setups, and basic MasterCAM programming.
Core Attributes:
A "lead-by-example" mentality with exceptional attention to detail, strong critical thinking skills, and a reliable track record of attendance.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED. Must be a US Citizen.
Compensation & Perks Competitive Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00+ per hour (DOE), with regular performance-based merit evaluations.
