Job Description
The Production Supervisor is responsible for daily production output, equipment operation, and basic maintenance within the parylene coating area. This role leads a weekend workforce to ensure work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The supervisor collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams to support customer requirements and continuous improvement initiatives. Although the primary schedule is Friday-Sunday, 6AM-6PM, the supervisor may occasionally be asked to attend meetings, customer audits, or team sessions during the week. Some meetings may allow call‑in participation outside the standard shift. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Lead all personnel functions for team members within scope of responsibility, including interviewing, hiring recommendations, onboarding, directing work, coaching, training, performance planning, corrective action, and performance reviews Communicate regularly with team members to provide direction, answer questions, and plan activities to meet production goals Ensure all team members are properly trained and meet job requirements Participate in or provide input to production scheduling to meet customer ship dates Manage WIP inventory and use resources effectively to meet established goals Ensure quality standards are met or exceeded; participate in corrective action development and implementation Prepare reports, logs, and documentation; ensure accuracy and timely availability Schedule overtime, approve time punches, and monitor attendance for direct reports Support and enforce all company policies; administer corrective actions when necessary Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Quality, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Engineering to support customer focus and operational efficiency Maintain control of manufacturing costs and adhere to budget expectations Partner with OpEx, Engineering, and other teams to implement process improvements and cost‑reduction initiatives Additional Responsibilities Perform light troubleshooting of production equipment and ensure repairs are completed Oversee proper disposal of waste chemicals through approved vendors and maintain hazardous materials logs Address employee questions or concerns and resolve issues using appropriate resources Support and adhere to all plant and corporate safety policies Assist in other areas or perform additional duties as business needs evolve Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required; post‑secondary education preferred Five or more years of supervisory or lead experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment Exposure to or training in Lean Manufacturing or Operational Excellence preferred Skills & Qualifications Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and work instructions Comfortable presenting information and responding to questions from managers, employees, and customers Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to manage people, resources, and multiple priorities effectively Strong decision‑making skills with the ability to assess downstream impacts and seek guidance when appropriate Ability to give and follow verbal and written instructions Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members SCS is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Pay:
$63,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
