Shipyard(s) & Customer Facilities SUMMARY The Blast Foreman is responsible for all blast related operations for a designated job or jobs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform physical and organizational duties under leadership of Superintendent/Project manager Attend inspections of blast work Inspect preparation of blasted areas and have blasters correct any areas that don't meet standards Organize, supervise, lead and train employees to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframe Direct and assist in setup and removal of blasting equipment Review and submit timesheets for assigned crew Perform other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Directing various number of employees in a productive and safe manner Training, planning, assigning and directing work Ordering grit, fuel, supplies and other materials for blasting operations Conduct Performance evaluations, providing recommendations for promotion and salary adjustments
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & ATTRIBUTES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management Ability to read and interpret documents such as job specifications, maintenance manuals, safety manuals. Ability to calculate and order grit, fuel, supplies and other materials for blasting operations Ability to provide clear insruction and direction to team members Ability to carry out written or verbal instruction Excellent critical thinking and problem solving
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
3+ years experience in the Marine Industry 1+ years formal or Informal job training C-7 Certificate (Company May Provide) OSHA-10 (Company May Provide) CPR/AED/First Aid (Company May Provide)
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly exposed to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, heights, confined spaces, precarious places, proximity to other employees. Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50+ pounds (50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly) Lifting includes from floor to waist, waist to shoulder, waist to overhead Ability to climb stairs and ladders May be required to wear a respirator

Blast Pot / Hopper, after cooler, dehumidifiers, dust collectors, vaccums, forklifts, electrical disconnects and transformers, compressors
