Position Summary The Paint Foreman is responsible for coordinating paint department activities related to new ship construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance projects. The Paint Foreman will provide on-site direction by monitoring work progress, offering guidance, promoting accountability, ensuring quality standards, and meeting project deadlines, with direct management of up to 20 employees. Domestic travel may be required. Essential Functions Read and interpret shipbuilding drawings, coating specifications, work packages, paint schedules, and engineering requirements to determine material needs and work sequences Plan and oversee surface preparation, abrasive blasting, coating application, touch-up, and preservation activities for shipboard structures, tanks, compartments, and equipment Coordinate workforce assignments, monitor production schedules, and ensure painting and coating work is completed in accordance with quality, safety, environmental, and project requirements Plan activities and overtime as needed to meet project demands Other duties as assigned
