Job Title:
Production Supervisor Job Description The Production Supervisor plays a critical role in leading frontline operations within a manufacturing environment. This position oversees production, distribution, and maintenance activities while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on the floor. The supervisor coaches hourly employees, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and supports operational excellence to meet or exceed daily production requirements. Responsibilities Oversee daily manufacturing capabilities, product features, and asset throughputs to achieve or exceed production requirements. Lead and supervise frontline production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. Maintain direct accountability for safety performance in daily operations by promoting and enforcing standard work and best practices to prevent injuries. Monitor operational performance, identify unwanted performance trends, and collaborate with Production Managers, Plant Superintendent, and Continuous Improvement Managers to develop and implement corrective action plans. Escalate issues that cannot be resolved within the team structure to appropriate leadership in a timely manner. Communicate proactively with Production Managers, Plant Superintendent, Continuous Improvement Managers, and cross-functional teams to address emerging concerns and maintain smooth operations. Support and champion continuous improvement and process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and reliability. Ensure production, distribution, and maintenance activities align with safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Coach and guide hourly employees to build skills, reinforce best practices, and support a culture of accountability and operational excellence. Essential Skills Proven supervisory skills with experience leading frontline production teams. Strong production management and production supervision experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated management skills, including the ability to direct daily operations and drive results. Experience with continuous improvement and process improvement methodologies. Ability to identify performance trends, analyze root causes, and implement effective action plans. Strong communication skills to collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams. Commitment to safety performance and consistent use of standard work and best practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience applying continuous improvement frameworks such as Six Sigma. Experience in food-grade or similarly regulated manufacturing environments. Ability to support and influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production setting. Comfort working with multiple stakeholders, including production leadership and continuous improvement teams. Why Work Here?
