Paint Associate III - Southern Fulfillment Center PlayCore Fort Payne, AL Fort Payne, AL 35967 Summary The Paint Associate III is responsible for supporting paint line operations by identifying, inspecting, labeling, packaging, and processing parts while maintaining quality and production standards. This role performs general labor tasks within the Paint Department, including loading and unloading materials, verifying part specifications, conducting quality inspections, operating labeling equipment, and ensuring products meet company standards before packaging and shipment. Some of the positions include but are not limited to tasks referenced in Paint Associate 1& 2 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules, and safety regulations. Identify and verify all parts processed through the paint line using engineering prints and specifications. Inspect parts for quality, color accuracy, and conformance to print requirements. Report any discrepancies, defects, or non-conforming parts to the Lead or Supervisor immediately. Claim and label parts accurately using LMS utilities, Report Manager, and label-making equipment. Generate and maintain shortage reports as required. Perform coating quality checks, including daily mil thickness and crosshatch testing. Load, unload, lift, move, sort, and package materials and finished products. Hang products on conveyor lines efficiently and safely. Verify product color based on information provided by material handlers, leads, or supervisors. Package products according to company specifications using hand staplers, air staplers, and other packaging equipment. Operate air tools, sanders, grinders, drills, and other department equipment as needed. Complete daily production reporting accurately. Maintain 5S standards and housekeeping requirements within the work area. Assist with additional departmental tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or paint line experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret prints and work instructions. Ability to read a tape measure preferred. Basic computer skills and ability to learn LMS utilities and reporting systems. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be willing and able to work any shift, including overtime and weekends as needed. Must be physically able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Work Environment This position is performed in a manufacturing environment where personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection when applicable. The environment may be non-climate-controlled and may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
