Job Description

Job Title:
General Production Worker / Warehouse Associate Job Description This role combines general production and warehouse responsibilities within an industrial paint department. You will support three paint systems—Primer, Base Coat, and Clear Coat—by managing excess paint, maintaining system components, and handling related inventory. The position involves regular use of hand tools, material handling equipment, and basic computer applications to keep operations running smoothly and safely. Responsibilities Operate as a warehouse associate within an industrial paint department, supporting day-to-day production activities. Work with three paint systems—Primer, Base Coat, and Clear Coat—following established procedures for each system. Take excess paint from the detact pump and transfer it to the Palin system in a safe and controlled manner. Swap out bags containing excess paint, ensuring proper removal, handling, and replacement on the system. Carry used paint bags outside to de-water them, then return and reinstall them on the system according to guidelines. Change and replace 55-gallon drums within the paint systems, ensuring secure connections and minimal product loss. Perform scooping, lifting, and reaching tasks to maintain control of the paint systems and associated inventory. Monitor inventory levels for paint, drums, and related materials, and communicate needs to maintain continuous operations. Use hand tools to support basic maintenance and adjustments on equipment as required. Operate a forklift to move drums, bags, and other materials safely within the warehouse and production areas. Assist with general production tasks such as loading, inspection, and handling of materials as needed. Support wastewater and waste paint handling processes by following proper procedures for collection and movement of materials. Use basic Microsoft Office applications to record information, track inventory, or communicate with team members as needed. Conduct visual inspections of equipment, materials, and work areas to identify issues and maintain quality standards. Follow all safety procedures, including the use of required PPE, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Work independently after training, taking initiative to complete tasks and maintain system performance without constant supervision. Collaborate with other warehouse and forklift operators and onsite leadership to coordinate daily activities and priorities. Communicate status updates and any issues to supervisors or project leadership, including via phone check-ins during the day. Essential Skills Previous warehouse experience in an industrial or production environment. Industrial work experience involving material handling or production support. Forklift operating experience in a warehouse or plant setting. Ability to lift up to 55 pounds on a regular basis. Comfort with scooping, lifting, reaching, and other physical tasks required to handle materials and equipment. Experience using hand tools in an industrial or maintenance context. Ability to handle 55-gallon drums safely, including changing and moving them as part of daily tasks. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for simple tracking and communication tasks. Ability to work safely in a paint department or similar industrial environment, following PPE and safety procedures. Capacity to work independently after training, staying focused and self-directed with minimal supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in general production, general labor, or inspection work. Experience with wastewater or waste paint handling processes in an industrial setting. Familiarity with operating in a large manufacturing plant environment. Comfort working with paint systems or chemical handling processes. Strong attention to detail when monitoring inventory, equipment status, and system performance. Good communication skills for coordinating with other operators and project leadership. Ability to adapt to different lines or areas within a paint department as operational needs change. Why Work Here? You will join a team launching a new operation within a major manufacturing facility, offering the opportunity to contribute from the ground up and make a visible impact. The environment supports hands-on, practical work where you can use and grow your industrial, warehouse, and forklift skills. After a thorough training period, you gain autonomy and trust to manage your area, while still having regular support and check-ins from onsite leadership. The role offers exposure to modern production processes and systems, helping you build valuable experience in industrial operations and paint department support. Work Environment This position is based onsite in a large automotive manufacturing plant within the paint department. You will primarily work around Line 2 bumper and later transition to Line 2 body in the paint area, supporting active production operations. The role involves working closely with one other warehouse/forklift operator and onsite project leadership, but you will spend much of your time working independently after an initial two-week training period. The environment is industrial and fast-paced, with frequent interaction with paint systems, 55-gallon drums, and material handling equipment. You will use hand tools, forklifts, and basic computer applications as part of your daily work. Steel-toe footwear is required, and all remaining personal protective equipment is provided.
