Job Title:
Production Worker Job Description Responsibilities Assemble processed parts and place them on racks or in appropriate packaging according to production requirements. Perform quality reviews of parts and finished products during the assembly process and separate defective or nonconforming parts. Locate and bring processed parts and materials to the workstation as needed to support continuous production flow. Assist with machine part changes and basic machine operation as required to support production schedules. Unload materials and components, organize them in designated areas, and prepare them for use in production or shipment. Support general labor tasks such as packing, stacking, labeling, and staging products for shipping and receiving. Use hand tools, measuring devices such as tape measures, and other equipment safely and accurately during assembly and inspection. Operate production and material handling equipment, including forklifts when authorized and trained, to move materials and finished goods. Inspect parts and assemblies to verify they meet specifications and document or report any issues promptly. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by sweeping, removing dust, and following 6S principles within the department. Ensure scrap baskets and waste containers are emptied at regular intervals and disposed of in the proper locations. Follow all safety procedures and work instructions, including participation in orientation and hands-on training. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement efforts. Essential Skills Previous manufacturing experience, including exposure to production or assembly environments. Ability to understand and work with manufacturing blueprints or work instructions. Experience with assembly and production tasks in a manufacturing setting. Ability to utilize hand tools safely and effectively. Experience with machine operation or machine assisting in a production environment. Ability to perform quality inspection of parts and finished products. Basic proficiency in using a tape measure and other simple measuring tools. Capability to perform general labor tasks such as packing, unloading materials, and organizing work areas. Willingness and ability to work 10- to 12-hour shifts on second or third shift. Ability to remain attentive and engaged during hands-on orientation and training. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on an assembly line in a high-volume production environment. Familiarity with 6S or similar workplace organization and cleanliness programs. Forklift experience or certification for material handling duties. Experience with general machine operating in a manufacturing setting. Experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing environments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Ability to work effectively as part of a production team. Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing facility operating on second and third shifts. Second shift typically runs from approximately 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., and third shift typically runs from approximately 11:00 p.m. to 9:00 or 10:00 a.m., with the expectation of working 10- to 12-hour shifts depending on production needs. New hires participate in a hands-on orientation that runs on day shift at least through Wednesday and requires sustained attention. The work environment is fast-paced and production-driven, with frequent use of assembly lines, hand tools, tape measures, and general machine operation. Material handling, including unloading materials and moving processed parts, is a regular part of the role and may involve the use of forklifts and other equipment when trained and authorized. The facility emphasizes cleanliness and organization, following 6S principles to keep work areas swept, free of dust, and well maintained. Employees receive regular short breaks approximately every two hours to support productivity and safety Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Muscle Shoals, AL.
