Overview We are seeking a skilled Grinder to join our foundry team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating grinding machines to produce precision parts and components. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to quality, ensuring that all products meet the required specifications. The Grinder will work closely with other team members to maintain production efficiency and uphold safety standards. Responsibilities Operates one (1) or more types of grinding and cutting equipment in removing undesirable projections or surplus metal (fins, burrs, gates and risers) from sand castings Operates fox grinders, narrow wheeled grinders, de-burrs, slot and/or pencil type of grinders. May perform rough and finish grinding operations on small and large castings where a fox grinder will not work. May also operate pneumatic chisel to remove fins, rat-tails, buckles, or any type of casting imperfections. Operate portable pneumatic grinding tools Use of a variety of hand tools including hammers, cold chisels and files Complete general paperwork for routing, scheduling & QA Report production quantities and items for each work order Performs housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work environment Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned Skills or Experience Required Experience in a foundry or manufacturing environment is preferred. Other Position Demands or Requirements Math, computer and communication skills are necessary. Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions Lift 70 lbs. on an occasional basis Standing - frequent to continuous Walking - occasional to frequent Must be able to communicate with other employees Perform at a pace to keep up with production Comply with Company's safety policy & procedures Abide by the established foundry working requirements (attitude, technique, efficiency, safety, attendance & housekeeping)
