Job Purpose Create wood strands by processing logs through debarker and strander Key Responsibilities In this position you will have the opportunity to: Operate equipment controls to regulate the speed of logs, cut logs, and transfer flakes Coordinate processes with fellow operators Change knives as necessary Identify operational issues as well as control panel issues Blow down the strander Remove log jams and bark from belts Monitor the flow of flakes entering the green bins Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations Perform other duties as assigned/necessary What do I need to be successful? Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Knowledge of multiple complex equipment operation. Knowledge of equipment maintenance. Time management and multi-tasking skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated mechanical ability. Demonstrated ability to operate multiple pieces of equipment. Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations. Education High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Experience 3 - 5 years' experience in equipment operation. Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
