Job Description

Eakas produces exceptional products that are functional to meet the diverse needs of the automotive industry. We currently have multiple openings and are hiring for several different positions within our plant. The Injection Molding Department is the initial production operation in the manufacturing of the product. There are horizontal and vertical machines, ranging from 40 to 4000 tons. The operator is responsible for quality of parts coming out of the machine. Depending on the skill and experience of the operator, they may be assigned to set-up duties. Trim and inspect molded parts as they come out of injection mold presses. Some associates may also be assigned to make setups or troubleshoot problems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Use various trimming tools, such as knives clippers (both manual and air operated), and Scotch-brite to remove flash, sprues, and other excess material from unpainted parts. 2) Produce parts in sufficient quantity to keep up with standards; specifically keep up with parts coming off conveyor (s). 3) Assure quality is maintained by watching for sinks and other flaws in the product. 4) Follow established procedures as set forth by job instruction, IATF16949 and
ISO14001. 5
) Keep production records as required. 6) Ability to communicate essential information regarding product integrity. 7) Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
To fulfill long-term job requirements, the molder must be able to: 1) Work overtime, both on a weekend and daily basis. 2) Stand all day; there are no sit down operations available due to product and plant layout. 3) Push or pull racks, load and unload racks, lift and move or stack boxes weighing up to 25 lbs. This will require the ability to bend and raise arms overhead. 4) Perform repetitive work involving finger dexterity. Parts processed typically weigh less than 5 lbs. 5) Understand English well enough to comprehend written communications that include, but are not limited to: specific job instructions posted at the job station, IATF16949 and ISO1400 requirements, safety instructions and labels. 6) Vision adequate to detect poor quality related to appearance. Must have normal color perception. 7) Work in hot environment. 8) May have to wear PPE such as hearing protection and gloves in addition to safety glasses. 9) Work at a pace to meet production standards. 10) Not allergic to smoke from burned plastic. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to continuously stand, walk, twist, bend, reach, push and/or pull. Specific parts typically weigh less than 5 lbs. Must be able to perform repetitive work involving finger dexterity. May have to wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
