Production Technician I / Production Associate Job Description The Production Technician I works in a clean room manufacturing environment assembling medical devices using hand tools, basic equipment, and manual assembly techniques. This role follows detailed work instructions, maintains strict quality standards, and ensures products are assembled accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced production setting. The position suits individuals who are mechanically inclined, enjoy working with their hands, and can perform repetitive tasks with a high level of precision and attention to detail. Responsibilities Assemble medical devices using hand tools, fixtures, and basic manufacturing equipment in accordance with established procedures. Follow written work instructions, procedures, and quality standards to ensure consistent and compliant production. Perform all tasks in a clean room environment while adhering to safety protocols and company guidelines. Inspect products and small components by eye, using corrective lenses if needed, to identify any defects or quality issues. Report production concerns, equipment issues, and quality observations promptly to supervisors. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling and storage of tools and materials. Meet daily production goals while maintaining a high level of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail. Handle small components with hands and fingers, ensuring careful and precise assembly. Operate general production and basic machine equipment as needed within the manufacturing process. Adhere to personal protective equipment requirements and clean room protocols at all times. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude for assembly work and use of hand tools, fixtures, and basic equipment. Ability to work at a fast manufacturing pace while maintaining accuracy and quality. Ability to be on feet for 12-hour shifts and perform physically active tasks throughout the shift. Ability to handle small components with hands and fingers and perform detailed manual work. Ability to inspect small parts visually, with corrective lenses if needed, to identify defects or inconsistencies. Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment and performing repetitive tasks with precision. Comfort working in a clean room environment while wearing required personal protective equipment. High school diploma or GED, with a physical copy available for verification. Ability to follow written work instructions and learn new processes and procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in production, general labor, assembly, or general manufacturing is beneficial. Experience with forklift operation or general production equipment is a plus. Experience working in a clean room or controlled environment is an advantage. Experience with machine operation in a manufacturing setting is helpful. Previous medical device manufacturing experience is not required but is considered a plus. Comfort working in a structured environment with defined procedures and quality requirements. Willingness to wear a mask and hood that covers the face and hair, leaving only the eyes exposed, in accordance with clean room requirements. Good communication skills to report issues and collaborate with supervisors and team members. No prior Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) experience is required for this role. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an air-conditioned clean room manufacturing facility. The position operates on a 2nd shift schedule, working from 5:23 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Wednesday through Saturday. Team members spend most of the shift on their feet and work at a fast manufacturing pace, handling small components and operating basic production and machine equipment. All required personal protective equipment is provided, including clean room attire such as masks and hoods that cover the face and hair, leaving only the eyes exposed. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to defined procedures while supporting efficient, high-quality production. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Tempe, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $19.75/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
