In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for fabricating high-quality composite components through precise lay-up processes, ensuring adherence to safety standards and production specifications. Your expertise will contribute directly to the creation of durable, lightweight composite structures used in various advanced industries. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where craftsmanship, technical proficiency, and safety are paramount. Duties Prepare and organize composite materials, including fibers, resins, and core materials, following detailed production documents and technical drawings. Operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to cut, shape, and assemble composite layers accurately. Execute composite lay-up procedures by layering fabrics or prepregs onto molds or templates with precision. Use forklifts and manual handling techniques to transport raw materials and finished components safely within the manufacturing facility. Interpret technical drawings and manufacturing instructions to ensure correct placement and orientation of materials. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of chemicals and heavy materials. Assist in process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting enhancements to manufacturing workflows. Conduct quality checks using measuring instruments to verify dimensions and surface finishes meet specifications. Collaborate with team members on assembly line tasks, managing production flow while ensuring high standards of craftsmanship. Experience Proven factory or manufacturing facility experience, preferably within composite or aerospace industries. Hands-on experience with composite lay-up techniques, including manual handling of materials and use of hand tools or power tools. Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, production documents, and specifications related to mechanical assembly. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments, including lean manufacturing principles and process improvement strategies. Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently within a busy manufacturing setting. Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with measuring instruments such as calipers or micrometers is highly desirable.
