This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives in a manufacturing environment, can manage high‑volume hourly payroll, and enjoys supporting employees and supervisors across multiple departments. Responsibilities Payroll (Primary Function) Process weekly payroll for hourly, union, and salaried employees. Manage payroll coordination for agency/temporary workers , including hours verification and invoice reconciliation. Review and validate timecards, schedules, and attendance records across multiple shifts. Maintain payroll records, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposits. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws (California experience required). Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies quickly and accurately. Process PTO, sick time, holiday pay, overtime, and shift differentials. Prepare payroll reports for Accounting, HR, and Management. Human Resources Support Assist with onboarding, new‑hire paperwork, I‑9 verification, and employee file maintenance. Support HR with employee relations, attendance tracking, and corrective action documentation. Coordinate with supervisors regarding staffing needs, schedule changes, and agency worker assignments. Maintain confidentiality of employee information and HR records. Assist with workers' compensation reporting, safety documentation, and compliance audits. Help with benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee communication. Skills Payroll & Technical Skills Full‑cycle payroll processing Timekeeping systems (ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or similar) Knowledge of California wage & hour laws Payroll reconciliation and reporting Understanding of garnishments, deductions, and tax withholdings Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables preferred) HR & Operational Skills Experience with onboarding, I‑9s, and employee file management Familiarity with manufacturing or food production environments Ability to manage payroll for multiple shifts and high‑volume hourly staff Experience coordinating agency/temporary workers Strong collaboration with HR, Accounting, and Operations teams
