MANUFACTURING SPECIALIST

(STARSHIELD) Starshield leverages SpaceX's Starlink technology and launch capability to support national security efforts. While Starlink is designed for consumer and commercial use, Starshield is designed for government use, with an initial focus on three areas: Earth observation, communications, and hosted payloads. Designed to meet diverse mission requirements, Starshield satellites are capable of integrating a wide variety of payloads, offering unique versatility to users. With the proven ability to iterate rapidly, SpaceX's unique full-stack approach in developing end-to-end systems, from launch vehicles to user terminals, enables the deployment of capabilities at scale with unprecedented speed. Starshield's proliferated low-Earth orbit architecture provides inherent resiliency and constant connectivity to on-orbit assets, while SpaceX's proven rapid launch capability provides expedient and economical access to space. The Manufacturing Specialist role is responsible for supporting the bring up and future production of Starshield satellites. This includes designing tooling (assembly aides, part fixturing, electrical checkout rack, etc.) and processes (vehicle checkouts, harness/component integration, troubleshooting procedures etc.) to rapidly build early versions of Starshield vehicles. Manufacturing Specialists will be expected to contribute in daily production activities including dispositioning and troubleshooting issues, assembling first-article flight and GSE hardware, working with engineers to execute sub-system development testing, and aiding production technicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform daily production activities

• including sub-assembly builds, vehicle integration, resolving issue tickets and further actions, test checkouts, etc.

Work closely with the systems and design teams along with cross-functional partners to ensure solutions meet the mission requirements Develop procedures/processes and manage the transition of parts and assemblies from development to high-rate production Coordinate and execute development, qualification, and acceptance testing of systems and tooling needed to meet hardware deadlines Analyze and resolve integration and manufacturing discrepancies (design, fabrication, and assembly) Partner with engineering and production teams to drive improvements for current and next-generation vehicles Guide multiple projects to completion for developmental testing and team readiness objectives Self-monitor work progress and achieve on-time delivery of all work

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree or higher in an electronics, mathematical, or engineering discipline OR high school diploma and 5+ years of professional experience in testing, developing, and/or manufacturing electro-mechanical systems or harnessing in lieu of a degree

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

00 Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
