Junior Buyer - Electronic Components

About the Role Trantronics, Inc. is a premier electronics assembly leader recognized for rapid fulfillment and exceptional customer service. We are seeking a motivated Junior Electronic Components Buyer to join our fast-paced procurement team. In this role, you will be the vital link between our project managers and the supply chain, ensuring our production lines remain operational through meticulous purchase order administration and proactive order expediting.

Key Responsibilities Component Sourcing:

RFQ from approved vendors. Create cost bill of material and submit for approval.

Procurement:

Source and purchase capacitors, resistors, PCBs, and mechanical hardware. Proactively facilitate RFQs and translate project requirements into accurate, actionable purchase orders.

Vendor Management:

Identify competitive suppliers, negotiate pricing, and maintain high-value vendor relationships to ensure quality and cost-efficiency.

Data Integrity:

Maintain precise records within our inventory management system and leverage Advanced Excel for real-time status reporting.

Expediting:

Proactively track open orders and provide critical product status updates to support strict production timelines.

Collaboration:

Partner with Senior Buyers and Project Managers to resolve supply chain bottlenecks and support departmental goals.

Qualifications Experience:

2+ years of procurement experience, specifically within contract manufacturing (EMS) or electronic component distribution.

Technical Knowledge:

Familiarity with PCBs, cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and raw materials/subassemblies is highly preferred.

Software Proficiency:

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) are required for this role.

Logistics Savvy:

Basic understanding of freight forwarding, customs, and duty regulations.
