This is a seasonal, position located on-site at our Modesto Cannery. We are seeking a detail‑oriented and highly organized Seasonal Operations Production Clerk to support creation, documentation, standardization, and ongoing maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the Operations team. Working closely with subject matter experts and operational teams, you will learn to evaluate existing processes and convert them into clear, accurate, and user‑friendly SOPs. This role will partner with management to identify process improvement, operational excellence initiatives, real‑world business workflows, technical writing, documentation management, process standardization, and quality management practices. The Seasonal Operations Production Clerk will be expected to work at least 6 days a week during our Fresh-Pack Season from mid-July to late September. Our Cannery runs 24/7 so flexibility to work any shift (Days, Swing or Graveyard) is required. This position will be primarily responsible for: Observing and documenting existing operational processes and workflows. Interviewing team members and subject matter experts to gather process details. Drafting, editing, and formatting Standard Operating Procedures in a consistent template. Ensuring SOPs are clear, concise, and easy to follow. Organizing and maintaining SOP documentation in shared systems or repositories. Revising and updating SOPs based on feedback and process changes. Assisting with version control and document approval tracking. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by identifying gaps or inefficiencies in documented processes. Collaborating closely with shift leadership to ensure operational accuracy and alignment Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Strong written communication and editing skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to organize information logically and clearly. Comfortable asking questions and working with cross-functional teams. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or similar documentation tools. Able to work at least 6 days a week. Proficient in Spanish and English, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with process mapping or workflow diagrams (Visio, Lucidchart, etc.) 2 years experience with writing or using SOPs, technical writing, quality assurance systems, or compliance documentation. Basic understanding of operational or technical processes.
Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 50% or more sitting, 25% or more walking, and 50% or less standing. The job is performed under frequent temperature variations and in a cannery environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. is required.
