Job Description

We're Hiring:
Are You the Next Matterhorn Collective Team Member? We help people explore the great outdoors and find adventure with high-quality equipment they can trust. Ready to roll up your sleeves and join an energetic team passionate about what they do? Welcome to Matterhorn Collective We provide innovative products that bring peace of mind and reliability to every journey. Our team is a group of highly skilled individuals who believe that a great product starts with a great culture. We know each other, we look out for each other, and we build things we're proud of. The Collective currently consists of four brands: Sherpa Equipment Co., Baseline Overland, Topocut LLC, and Pullkitchen. Four brands, one team, one standard. We're looking for a Production Manager to help lead the floor and grow with us.
The Role:
Production Manager This is a floor-first leadership position. You'll be present and active during shifts, making sure every handoff is clean, every team member knows their assignment, and every product that leaves this building meets our standard. You'll lead production for all brands — different products, different customers, same commitment to quality and on-time delivery. Within your first 30 days, you'll take ownership of the production schedule. From there, you'll build the SOPs, run the daily standup, manage the team, and represent production in the weekly Ops Review. When things go sideways — a quality issue, a process breakdown, a scheduling gap — you're the first call, and you're ready for it. What You'll Own Active presence on the production floor during all working shifts Daily production standup meeting Shift handoff communication, format, and follow-through Task and workstation assignments for the production team Production schedule Quality hold authority SOP writing and maintenance for processes under your scope
Production KPIs:
output, quality, downtime, and utilization Performance management and development of production staff Budget input for production consumables and supplies What We're Looking For Must-Have
  • 5-10 years of production or manufacturing management experience
  • A track record of leading a team on a production floor — not just overseeing, but genuinely leading people
  • Experience building and enforcing SOPs from scratch
  • Comfort managing across multiple product lines or production environments
  • Hands-on floor presence as your default mode
  • Familiarity with quality holds, defect tracking, and production scheduling
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Northern Colorado (Berthoud area) Prefer-to-Have
  • Background in metal fabrication, laser cutting, CNC, or sheet metal work
  • Familiarity with overlanding, off-road vehicles, or the outdoor/adventure space
  • Familiarity with contract manufacturing operations
  • Experience with production management software Who You Are
  • You're the kind of person who enjoys being on the floor and naturally gravitates toward where the work is happening.
You learn people's names fast, you notice when something's off before it becomes a bigger problem, and you deal with things directly. You've led production teams before and know that trust gets built through consistency, not authority. Making something well — in America, by a team that cares — means something to you. Why Matterhorn Collective? What we make is real. Every rack is engineered and built in Berthoud, Colorado. Our customers notice the difference, and so does our team. You'll have real ownership. You're not inheriting a 100% finished system — you're building one. The processes, the schedule, the culture on the floor — you have a hand in all of it. The team is close-knit. 40 people, 4 brands, one culture. We communicate directly and hold each other to a high standard.
Pay & Growth:
$75,000 to $85,000 (based on experience) with real opportunities to grow as the company expands.
Benefits:
We've got you covered with health, dental, and vision insurance in addition to 401K matching (available after 60 days).
Adventure Perks:
2 weeks of PTO per year plus deep product and industry discounts to gear up your own rig. Location Our shop is located in beautiful Berthoud, CO , where the mountains are our backyard and our testing ground.
