Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description This role involves performing a variety of production tasks in a manufacturing environment. You will work from written work instructions and standard operating procedures, use basic math and computer systems, and rotate through multiple work areas on the production floor. Team members receive cross-training across different processes to support stable, flexible operations. Responsibilities Follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures accurately and consistently. Use basic math skills to complete production tasks, measurements, and counts as required. Log in and out of jobs using computer systems, including scanning barcodes or QR codes to track work and time. Create and print labels through the computer and ERP systems to support product identification and traceability. Perform a variety of hands-on production tasks such as assembly, warehouse, or other general production tasks depending on the role. Rotate between different stations and tasks on the production floor as part of a cross-trained team. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, complying with all safety guidelines and use of required PPE. Communicate promptly and professionally about attendance, scheduling issues, and any barriers to completing assigned work. Participate in classroom and on-the-job training, apply feedback to improve performance, and meet clearly defined performance metrics. Collaborate with team members and supervisors in a positive, constructive manner to meet production goals. Adhere to company policies regarding conduct, attendance, and work practices to ensure a stable and respectful work environment. Essential Skills At least 1+ years of industrial experience in environments such as warehouse, manufacturing, landscaping, trade school, automotive, or other hands-on industrial roles. Ability to use computers to scan barcodes and QR codes, navigate basic ERP or production systems, and create and print labels. Comfort working from written work instructions and standard operating procedures with strong attention to detail. Basic math skills to perform counts, measurements, and simple calculations as part of daily tasks. Willingness and ability to cross-train and perform multiple tasks across the production floor. Capacity to work in a structured manufacturing environment and follow all safety and cleanliness standards. Reliable attendance and strong communication about schedule and availability. Work Environment The work takes place in a standard manufacturing facility that is clean, well lit, providing a comfortable and stable environment throughout the year. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, with all positions completing first-shift orientation for the first two days. Regular shifts include first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and second shift from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and 3rd shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with a preference to train on first shift when possible. Employees receive two 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch, with access to an on-site cafeteria and designated smoking areas. The environment emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork, with cross-training across the facility to support varied and engaging daily work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Berlin, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.70/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
