Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description This role involves operating and supporting various production equipment, primarily extrusion and slitting machines, in a clean and controlled manufacturing environment across first, second, and third shifts. You will contribute directly to efficient production processes while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and reliability. Responsibilities Operate various production equipment, with a primary focus on extrusion machines and slitting machines. Assist and support production machines and related manufacturing processes to ensure efficient workflow. Perform basic machine setup and adjustments as needed to maintain optimal operation. Monitor machines during operation, identify irregularities, and perform basic troubleshooting to resolve issues. Use hand tools to complete routine tasks related to machine operation and minor maintenance. Work within the ERP system to record production activities and follow established processes. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safety-conscious approach in all tasks. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with clean room and dry room standards. Demonstrate consistent attention to detail to ensure product quality and process accuracy. Support machine maintenance activities by identifying potential issues and reporting them promptly. Collaborate with team members and remain eager to learn and participate in training on new equipment and processes. Stand and move throughout the manufacturing floor for the duration of the assigned shift. Essential Skills Machine operating experience within a manufacturing environment. If no prior machine operating experience, prior experience working in a manufacturing environment combined with strong mechanical aptitude. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how machines and mechanical systems function. Ability to stand for an entire shift and perform repetitive tasks safely and accurately. Attention to detail to monitor machines and products for quality and consistency. Reliability and strong attendance to support continuous production operations. Safety-conscious mindset and adherence to safety procedures in a manufacturing setting. Basic troubleshooting skills for identifying and addressing machine issues. Comfort working with hand tools for routine tasks. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating extrusion machines is a strong plus. Experience operating slitting machines or similar production equipment is beneficial. in general production or manufacturing processes. Experience with machine setup, machine operation, and basic machine maintenance. Familiarity with using an ERP system in a manufacturing environment. Mechanically inclined with an interest in learning more advanced machine troubleshooting. Eagerness to learn new processes and participate in ongoing training. Ability to work different shifts, including first, second, or third shift, as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based on a clean manufacturing shop floor, with most areas operating as climate- and temperature-controlled dry room and clean room environments. You will work around production equipment such as extrusion machines and slitting machines, along with standard manufacturing tools and ERP systems.Multiple shifts are available:
first shift typically runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.; second shift runs from 3:00 p.m. to 11:20 p.m. with a shift differential; and third shift runs from 11:00 p.m. to 7:20 a.m. with a higher shift differential. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization. The dress code requires long pants (no shorts or cropped pants), plain t-shirts are acceptable, and clothing must not be ripped, torn, or overly baggy. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Killingly, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
