Pressing & Sewing Operator Valentino Tailors New Haven, CT Job Details Part-time | Full-time $17 - $28 an hour 7 hours ago Benefits 401(k) On-the-job training Flexible schedule Qualifications Cutting Stitching Assembly Ability to follow instructions Manufacturing Full Job Description Overview We are seeking candidates who have experience with pressing, sewing, cutting and marking garments for our alterations business. We are willing to train interested and reliable candidates. We also will consider more experienced tailors and seamstresses.
Responsibilities can include:
Operate sewing machines efficiently to assemble garments according to specified patterns and quality standards Perform pressing tasks to ensure garments meet desired finish and presentation requirements Open seams of garments Prepare garments by cutting and marking, measuring Inspect finished products for defects, inconsistencies, or irregularities and make necessary adjustments Follow detailed work instructions and production schedules to meet deadlines Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot sewing or pressing issues promptly Skills Strong understanding of garment construction principles and techniques Proficiency in operating various sewing machines with precision and care Experience with pressing, and finishing garments Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and work efficiently under pressure Prior experience in an alterations, sewing or manufacturing is advantageous All positions are paid roles that support a professional, safe, and productive work environment.
Pay:
$17.00 - $28.00 per hour
