About this Role The Assembly Machine Operator position is an important role on the Silgan Dispensing team and is a great opportunity for those looking to advance their skills. Our plant help produce thousands of our dispensing products each day. So, it's important to keep it running efficiently and continuously. The Assembly Machine Operator monitor the assembly line and related machinery for proper functionality. If any defects in the line or machinery are detected, assembly operators stop the line and halt production until the problem is resolved. Here's a list of duties that our Assembly Machine Operator performs on a typical day:
  • Load/mount product slated for Assembly onto the line
  • Pack and label boxes.
  • Guide/feed materials into machinery.
  • Monitor machinery for proper operation.
  • Verify sensors are functioning properly.
  • Verify machine is operating at appropriate speed
  • Perform various quality inspections, visuals, & mechanical.
  • Observe and report machine abnormalities to Shift Lead, mechanic, or supervisor.
  • Maintain communication with all team members.
  • Perform all duties according to established safety and efficiency procedures.
  • Maintain workstation in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Adhere to all Safety Protocols
  • Properly completes required paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned Qualified Candidates must have:
  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Basic ability to read, write and understand English.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Basic math skills: ability to add and subtract.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have good organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret and support policies, procedures, and standards established by Silgan
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a Team environment
  • Must be able to work effectively with minimum supervision Preferred Candidates will have:
  • Willingness to assist other cross-functional groups based on needs.
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and report data.
  • Ability to prioritize work is essential.
  • Good oral and written communication skills Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations provided):
  • Ability to lift and/or move 35 lbs.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the production floor.
  • Physical requirements include but not limited to sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, crouching, color determination and grasping.
