Job Description Job Description Ironworker/Welder Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Ironworker/Welders to join our growing structural steel erection team. This position is responsible for erecting, fitting, aligning, and welding structural steel components in an industrial construction environment. Candidates must possess strong welding skills, the ability to read structural drawings, and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform structural steel erection, installation, and welding activities in accordance with project specifications and company standards. Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) using Inner Shield NR-233 wire on structural steel components. Weld fillet, Partial Joint Penetration (PJP), and Complete Joint Penetration (CJP) welds. Read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols. Verify proper fit-up, alignment, and placement of structural steel members prior to welding. Operate welding machines, hand tools, grinders, torches, and other related equipment. Select, set up, inspect, and maintain welding equipment and consumables. Perform quality checks to ensure welds meet project specifications and applicable codes. Assist with rigging, connecting, bolting, and erecting structural steel as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements. Work safely at heights and in various outdoor weather conditions.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of industrial welding, steel fabrication, or structural steel erection experience preferred. Experience welding with Flux Core wire on structural steel applications. Ability to pass a pre-employment structural weld test. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols. Knowledge of safe work practices and industrial construction environments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Requirements:
Must have experience welding with Flux Core wire on Fillet, PJP, and CJP joints for structural steel applications. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English. Must be able to provide a valid form of identification (Driver's License, State ID, Passport, Military ID, or TWIC Card). Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal work authorization for SpaceX badging requirements. Must be able to work at heights and climb ladders, stairs, and steel structures. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must pass all pre-employment screenings, including drug testing and background requirements as applicable. Must be proficient in Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW/Stick Welding) processes for structural steel applications.
Work Environment:
Industrial construction and structural steel erection projects. Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
