About Us Tailored Arms is a precision firearms manufacturer. Due to growing demand, we're looking to bring on a Production Assistant as an independent contractor to support our shop. Responsibilities Remove tool marks and perform polishing/finishing work on parts and components Hand-fit components such as barrels, slides, frames, and small parts Conduct quality control inspections on parts to ensure they meet spec prior to coating Degrease and sand blast parts in preparation for coating Assemble finished pistols in preparation for test fire Conduct quality control inspections on the finished firearm after assembly to ensure proper fit and function Help maintain production flow and meet output goals during periods of high demand Follow all shop safety procedures and federal firearms handling regulations Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with ATF recordkeeping standards Qualifications Hands-on experience with precision handgun manufacturing required Qualified gunsmith training/certification preferred, not required Strong attention to detail and precision hand-fitting skills Comfortable using precision measuring tools (calipers, pin gauges, etc.) and reading blueprints/specs Must be at least 21 years of age Must pass an ATF-required background check and be legally eligible to work with firearms under federal law Reliable, punctual, and able to work well alongside our production team Shows continuous improvement with the skills required to produce firearms in a fast-paced environment Availability Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM. Compensation Negotiable, commensurate with experience. Paid as a 1099 independent contractor, with the potential for increased compensation as measurable production gains are achieved.
