Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer - Electronics & Assembly Lockheed Martin | 4/10 Schedule - 1st Shift We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA) , electronic module assemblies , and cable harness fabrication . This role works closely with design engineering and operations to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliant, efficient production.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and document manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for CCA , module assemblies , and cable/wire harness builds Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and GD&T requirements to develop robust work instructions and process documentation Collaborate with design engineering to identify and implement DFM (Design for Manufacturability) improvements Design, procure, and implement tooling, fixtures, and test equipment to support manufacturing operations Incorporate inspection, test, and quality requirements (IPC standards, AS9100) into production plans Monitor and evaluate machinery, equipment, and tooling performance; initiate and track corrective actions (CAR/Client) to ensure product quality Partner with operations and production teams to support the shop floor and drive Lean / CI (continuous improvement) initiatives Ensure all processes and procedures comply with applicable regulations, customer specifications, and
AS9100 / DCMA
requirements Provide technical guidance to engineering on design concepts, specification requirements, and manufacturing capabilities
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience with cable harness assembly and IPC-620 standards Process writing / work instruction authoring experience Background in aerospace and defense (A&D) electronics manufacturing Familiarity with
MES, ERP
systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing , Six Sigma , or 5S methodologies Experience with Lockheed Martin , Raytheon , Northrop Grumman , or similar defense programs a plus
