ABOUT THE SHOW
Sky Patrol is a character-driven docuseries for the Discovery Channel following the aviation, ground, and marine units of law enforcement agencies across four Florida counties. Built around real incidents captured on agency FLIR helicopter footage — reenacted with the officers who lived them and layered with live ride-along coverage during active patrol — it's a show about real people doing extraordinary things. Produced by V1 Productions, the aviation-specialist company behind Amazon's Straight and Level.
THE ROLE
Production Assistants keep the day moving. You'll provide general field and office support across the units — handling equipment, transport, releases, and on-set logistics — and deploy to wherever the day's shooting load is heaviest. It's a fast-paced, hands-on entry point into a high-energy documentary production.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Support multiple departments in the field and at HQ as needs shift through the day.
  • Move, stage, and help maintain production equipment; handle transport of crew and gear.
  • Collect, distribute, and track releases and field paperwork.
  • Assist with card / media runs and help keep footage moving to the DIT in an organized way.
  • Help log the day's coverage and contribute to daily hot sheets.
  • Pitch in on whatever the day requires — adapt quickly and keep the production running smoothly.
REQUIRED
  • Reliable, proactive, and adaptable, with strong attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record; comfortable driving production vehicles.
  • Physically able to lift and carry gear and work long, irregular hours outdoors and on location.
  • Able to pass an agency background check (required for law enforcement environments).
  • A team-first attitude and genuine interest in unscripted / documentary production.
PREFERRED
  • 1+ years of on-set or production experience.
  • Local to one of the four production counties.
  • Familiarity with camera, media, or audio gear.
