Production Assistant Lead

General Overview:

The Production Assistant Lead supports daily manufacturing operations while providing guidance and direction to Production Assistants on the floor. This role is responsible for assembling components, ensuring quality standards are met, and helping maintain an efficient, organized, and safe work environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, train, and support Production Assistants to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently
• Assign daily tasks and monitor workflow to meet production schedules and deadlines
• Assemble components and subassemblies according to specifications and work instructions
• Manually position and align parts for proper assembly and installation
• Perform routine quality control checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards
• Review part lists, work orders, and instructions to gather required tools, materials, and subassemblies
• Inspect and verify connections for correct fit and secure fastening of all parts
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic assembly issues; escalate more complex problems to the supervisor as needed
• Ensure team adherence to safety protocols and proper use of tools and equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper care and storage of tools and materials
• Monitor inventory levels of supplies and notify management of shortages or material needs
• Use equipment and materials efficiently to minimize waste and support cost control initiatives
• Assist with light warehouse duties, including material handling, staging, and organization

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environment required
• Prior leadership or lead experience preferred
• Proficiency with hand tools, including cordless drills and non-powered tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and move materials up to [insert weight, e.g., 25-50 lbs]
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for assembly work
