About Earnest Products Inc. Celebrating over 30 years in Central Florida, Earnest Products delivers high-quality sheet metal fabrication and related services to customers nationwide. We are a well-established manufacturing company focused on operational excellence, inventory accuracy, and continuous improvement. Our team members play a key role in supporting production while building long-term careers in a safe, organized, and professional workplace. See a problem. Get curious. Help build something better. We're looking for a CI Technician who enjoys figuring out how things work, solving practical problems, and finding ways to make people's jobs easier. This is a hands-on continuous improvement role focused on identifying opportunities throughout our manufacturing operation and turning ideas into practical improvements. You'll spend time on the production floor working alongside the people who build our products, understanding the challenges they face, and helping develop solutions that make work safer, easier, faster, and more organized. One day you might build a fixture that makes an assembly easier. The next you might organize a workstation, create a tool board, improve material flow, help test a new process, or work with Engineering to solve a recurring manufacturing problem. You don't need an engineering degree or years of Continuous Improvement experience to be successful here. We're looking for someone who is curious, mechanically inclined, humble, open-minded, organized, and willing to learn.
The goal is simple:
find opportunities, solve problems, and leave things better than you found them.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Identify opportunities to make manufacturing processes safer, easier, faster, and more organized. Work directly with production employees to understand problems, frustrations, and opportunities for improvement. Improve workstation layouts, ergonomics, organization, and material flow. Assist with manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly process improvements. Support the design, fabrication, installation, and testing of new tooling and equipment. Take measurements and create basic sketches and layouts for improvement projects. Help prototype, build, and test new ideas before they are fully implemented. Assist with documenting improved processes and creating work instructions. Identify repetitive or inefficient tasks and help develop simpler and more effective ways to complete them. Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and other departments to implement improvements. Learn and apply continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing principles as experience grows. Learn basic sheet metal design, fabrication, and manufacturing processes. Assist with CAD drawings and basic design work as skills develop. Help take improvement projects from problem → idea → build → test → improvement. Follow all company safety, quality, and workplace requirements. Remain flexible to the needs of the business and assist with other improvement projects as needed. Qualifications and Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical school, trade school, associate degree, or coursework related to manufacturing, mechanical systems, CAD, fabrication, industrial technology, or a related field is preferred, but not required. Previous manufacturing experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate. Experience in fabrication, assembly, maintenance, machining, construction, automotive, or another hands-on mechanical environment is a plus. Sheet metal manufacturing or fabrication experience is a plus. CAD experience is a plus; a desire and ability to learn CAD and basic sheet metal design is more important than previous experience. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring equipment is preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to problem solving. Naturally curious with a desire to understand why something works the way it does. Open-minded and humble enough to listen to and learn from the people performing the work every day. Willing to ask questions, try new ideas, learn from what doesn't work, and continuously improve. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Dependable and willing to take ownership of assignments and improvement projects. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, supervisors, and production employees. Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software, equipment, tools, and manufacturing processes. Good written and verbal communication skills.
