Job Title:
Production Associate Job Description The Production Associate operates machinery in a metal recycling environment, handles and transports scrap materials, and supports daily production activities. This role involves physically demanding work, consistent adherence to safety procedures, and close collaboration with team members to maintain efficient and safe operations. Responsibilities Operate machinery used in the metal recycling process in a safe and efficient manner. Perform repetitive lifting, moving, and handling of metal materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Transport scrap metal to designated recycling machines and processing areas. Monitor equipment during operation and promptly report any issues or irregularities. Ensure safe and efficient operation of all assigned equipment by following established procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area throughout the shift. Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and standard operating procedures. Use proper personal protective equipment and safe work practices at all times. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to meet daily production goals. Support general production and general labor tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly. Essential Skills Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds. Experience with machine operation in a production or manufacturing environment (preferred). Strong work ethic with a focus on reliability and consistent attendance. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing as part of a team. Willingness to adhere strictly to safety standards, protocols, and procedures. Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment handling metal materials. Basic understanding of general production and general labor practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in metal recycling, manufacturing, or industrial settings is an asset. Familiarity with general production processes and machine operation. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Strong attention to detail when operating equipment and handling materials. Flexibility to work any of the available shifts as assigned. Positive attitude and willingness to learn new tasks and procedures. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a metal recycling production facility with both indoor and outdoor work areas. Indoor areas are climate controlled, while some tasks may take place outdoors depending on operational needs. You will work on-site around heavy machinery, scrap metal, and other industrial equipment, following strict safety protocols and using appropriate protective gear. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule with three primary shifts: 1st shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and 3rd shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. You will spend most of the day on your feet, lifting and moving materials, and working closely with a team in a structured production environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Valdosta, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $21.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
