Job Title:
Machine Operator | $20+HR | 1st Shift Job Description This role involves operating machinery and performing general production tasks in a brick and paver manufacturing plant. You will handle manual sorting, machine operation, and material movement while working in a fast-paced, industrial environment that may include outdoor work and exposure to dust and varying temperatures. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent, depending on business needs. Responsibilities Manually sort bricks on a production table for approximately one hour at a time, ensuring quality and consistency. Operate forklifts or single lifts for approximately one hour at a time to move materials and products safely around the facility. Palletize finished products by stacking and securing bricks and pavers for storage and shipment. Unwrap pallets and prepare materials for production or further processing. Perform heavy lifting of materials and products, frequently handling loads of 50 pounds or more. Carry out general labor tasks to support production, including loading, unloading, and organizing materials. Operate production and manufacturing machinery according to established procedures and safety guidelines. Assist with cleanups and housekeeping to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area. Work both indoors and outdoors as needed, adapting to changing environmental and production requirements. Follow all safety protocols, report hazards, and contribute to a safe working environment for the entire team. Essential Skills At least 1 year of manufacturing experience. Experience with machine operation in a production or manufacturing environment. Ability to perform heavy lifting of 50 pounds or more on a regular basis. Willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions at times. Comfort working in a non-temperature-controlled, dusty industrial environment. Basic understanding of production and general labor processes. Ability to follow safety procedures and standard operating instructions. Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Forklift experience is preferred but not required; candidates with a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Experience in general production, general labor, or machine operation within manufacturing. Ability to work effectively in a team environment with approximately 50 production colleagues across multiple shifts. Flexibility to adapt to new processes as additional shifts are implemented. Strong work ethic and attention to detail when sorting, palletizing, and handling materials. Why Work Here? Production operations run across four shifts with around 50 people in the production team, creating a busy, collaborative setting. Work may take place both indoors and outdoors, and employees will use manufacturing machinery, palletizing equipment, and forklifts or single lifts. Appropriate industrial work attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety in this heavy manufacturing environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sheffield, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
