$15.00/hour Like getting your hands dirty? We might have the job for you. 24 South Apparel is looking for a full-time Screen Printing Darkroom & Screen Prep Technician to join our growing production team.
First things first:
this is a dirty job. There will be ink. There will be water. There will be screens that need cleaned. You will probably not finish every day looking exactly the way you did when you walked in. But if you're someone who likes staying busy, working with your hands, learning new equipment and being part of a fast-moving team, this could be a great fit. We are a local apparel decorating company specializing in screen printing and branded apparel. We're growing, building strong relationships with businesses, schools, organizations and our local community, and we're looking for another great person to grow with us. What You'll Be Doing Our darkroom is where every screen-printed job starts, so this position is an important part of the production process. You'll learn how to: Remove ink and tape from used screens Clean and reclaim screens Use cleaning chemicals and plenty of water Operate our dip tank and pressure-washing equipment Degrease and prep screens for production Coat screens with emulsion Properly dry and store coated screens Tape and prepare screens for the printing presses Operate our SAATI laser screen imaging system Prepare and organize screens for upcoming production jobs Inspect screens for quality before they hit the press Keep the darkroom clean, organized and ready for the next job Jump in and help other areas of production when needed Don't know how to do all of that yet? That's okay. We'll train the right person. Screen printing or production experience is definitely a plus, but attitude, reliability and willingness to learn matter more to us. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Shows up on time and ready to work Likes staying busy Can work in a fast-paced production environment Isn't afraid of getting wet, dirty or getting a little ink on themselves Takes pride in doing things correctly Can follow processes and pay attention to details Works well with a team Can learn new equipment and procedures Doesn't need someone standing over their shoulder all day Has a good attitude and a sense of humor Understands that when the shop is busy, we move This position requires standing for most of the workday and regularly lifting approximately 40-60 pounds . And yes — we really do mean it when we say you'll get dirty. If keeping your shoes perfectly clean is the highlight of your day, the darkroom may not be your natural habitat. The Schedule Monday through Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Full-time position with consistent weekday hours. Starting Pay $15.00 per hour Experience in screen printing, production, manufacturing or a similar environment is a plus and may be considered as you grow in the position. What's It Like at 24 South?
