Night / Swing Shift We are looking for a dependable, safety-minded Plant Laborer / Production Operator for the night/swing shift at our mining, mineral processing, and packaging facility. This is a hands-on industrial position involving plant operation, packaging, quality control, equipment operation, cleanup, and basic maintenance. Our processing plant includes hammermills, screens, conveyors, silos, and packaging equipment . Job Responsibilities Hand stack 55 lb. bags of finished product. Operate forklifts and skid steers with a potential to train on a haul truck and loader. Operate and monitor hammermills, screens, conveyors, and packaging equipment. Monitor product flow and production rates throughout the shift. Collect product samples and perform routine quality checks. Observe product and equipment conditions to identify changes that could affect quality or production. Assist with plant startups, shutdowns, adjustments, and troubleshooting. Perform general plant cleanup and housekeeping. Inspect work areas and equipment for safety, maintenance, contamination, or foreign-material concerns. Complete required production, quality, safety, and inspection records. Assist with preventive maintenance and repairs based on experience and ability. Follow company safety, HACCP, and Safe Feed/Safe Food (SFSF) procedures. Quality & Production Quality and production rate are frontline driven. Operators are expected to actively observe the plant while it is running, take required samples, recognize changes in product or equipment performance, and respond appropriately. This position requires someone who pays attention to what the plant is doing—not someone who simply starts equipment and walks away. Employees will be trained on our production process, product specifications, sampling procedures, contamination prevention, and required recordkeeping. Physical Requirements Applicants must be able to: Regularly lift and handle 55 lb. bags . Repeatedly hand stack bags during packaging operations. Stand and work for extended periods. Climb stairs and ladders. Bend, kneel, reach, push, and pull as required. Work around industrial equipment, dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Wear required personal protective equipment. Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is helpful: Mining or aggregate operations Industrial or manufacturing plants Forklift and skid steer operation Hammermills, screens, or conveyors Packaging and palletizing Mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting Bearings, belts, motors, and gearboxes Welding or fabrication Quality-control sampling Previous plant experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate . We are willing to train someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, observant, and willing to learn. The ideal candidate can learn how the entire production process works, recognize when something does not look or sound right, and help maintain both product quality and production efficiency . Mechanical aptitude and previous maintenance or plant-operating experience may provide opportunities for additional responsibilities.
Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
